Monica Payton, a second year law student and Juris Doctor candidate, is looking to merge her illustrious career in medicine, as a physician assistant and novelist, with a budding legal career at a competitive law firm focused on or experienced with biomedical, biotechnical research involving human subjects, reproductive choice, the use in genomics and or genetic information. With this exposure she hopes to participate in policy debates, advise research institutes and or federal agencies on such topics, not excluding the technology in the criminal legal system, employment and or insurance agencies.
It was her fascination with biomedical research and genomics, immediately following announcement of completion of the Human Genome Project in 2002, that lead Monica to pen two medical thrillers, Black Deception and the sequel, Cloning. Through her novels, she hoped stir healthy discussion amongst her peers yet educating them on the topics.
